Deb Shelly

Greetings from the Midwest!  I’m Deb Shelly, wife to Mark, mama to four adult sons, (Matthew, Jonathan, Christopher,  and Michael), one beautiful-21-year-old-future-nurse, daughter (Kathryn), mother-in-law x 5, Mimi to eleven beautiful grand babies (seven boys and four girls), retired homeschool mom of 18 years, Registered Nurse since 1976, Wichita State University alum (go Shockers!), recent empty nester, avid reader, and recent mother-of-the-bride.  Whew, that’s a lot of roles.  But the most important is daughter of the King.

The first 23 years of my life were traumatic.  It wasn’t pretty.  One of my favorite devotionals is My Utmost For His Highest by Oswald Chambers.  Chambers says, “if you are going to be used by God, He will take you through a multitude of experiences that are not meant for you at all, they are meant to make you useful in His hands, and to enable you to understand what transpires in other souls so that you will never be surprised at what you come across.”

I’ve definitely been through “a multitude of experiences,” some of my own making and some that I had no control over.  I will (eventually) share them under memoires in my blog.
